An Introduction to Authentic Relating

Exclusively for the Foundations of Embodiment Course

 Hello!

My name is Vix Anderton. I’m an embodiment coach, an authentic relating facilitator, menstruality mentor and a recovering perfectionist. I graduated from the Embodied Facilitator Course in 2020 and I’m delighted that you’re interested in trying Authentic Relating as one of your practice experiments during FEC.

Authentic Relating is a set of Principles and Practices designed to cultivate trustable, empowering and nourishing connections and relationships with everyone in your life. At its heart, it is an embodied practice - authentic relating invites us to stay in connection with what's happening, with reality, with our bodies. It’s a great practice to cultivate embodied relational awareness.

Authentic Relating was my gateway into the world of embodiment. It has changed my relationship with myself, helped me cultivate more nourishing, honest relationships in my life and brings a powerful approach to my coaching and embodied facilitation.

This 90-minute session is an introduction to the practice exclusively for students in the Foundations of Embodiment Course.

During the session, you will:

  • learn the building blocks of Authentic Relating;

  • play embodied connection games to practice the tools and integrate what you've been learning about embodiment into relationships;

  • identify tools and practices you can use in your coaching and relationships.

2025 Sessions

To help me plan sessions for FEC/CEC in 2025, please complete the form below if you’re interested in exploring embodied authentic relating.

please read this next section carefully before buying your ticket

One key tool of Authentic Relating is setting context. Think of this as making the rules of a game explicit so we all know what game we’re playing. Imagine the confusion that would ensue if I said we were playing football to this international audience

This is the context I’m offering for these classes. I hope this answers or anticipates many issues; if you still have a question, feel free to get in touch and I’ll get back to you as soon as I can.

  • These classes are exclusively for people taking FEC/CEC.

  • Please check that the day and time of the class you are a buying ticket for works for your time zone. If you are unsure, you can check your time zone here. Let me say that again because every year there is at least one person who has a time zone faff…please double check you are booking a session that works for your time zone!

  • There are no refunds if you are unavailable to attend for any reason. You may transfer your ticket to another member of the course. Please arrange this directly at least 24 hours before the class and inform me of the change with their details so I can make sure they have access to the class ahead of time.

  • Please arrive on time. The Zoom room will be open 10 minutes before the class starts and will close 5 minutes after the start time. I imagine this will be familiar to you from the FEC calls.

  • Presence is vital for connection so please be prepared to have your camera on throughout the session and don't multitask (no cooking, walking, driving etc). Please join the class in a quiet and private room; you may also wish to use headphones. This helps maintain confidentiality for the whole group.

  • The Zoom link for each class will be available on the Online Event Page. Please make sure you know how to access this ahead of the class. I will not be checking email immediately before the class starts and will not be available to help you if you leave this until the last minute. You will receive reminder emails from Eventbrite.

  • There are three tiers of tickets available. Concession tickets are limited so please only choose this option if you are struggling financially. I have an assumption that you have been able to pay for FEC/CEC knowing you would have to complete these practice experiments and so I’m not offering free spaces for these classes. If you’re not able to afford this class, I recommend ART’s free weekly community call as an alternative.

Core Practice and Beyond

If you enjoy this introduction to Authentic Relating, I hope you’ll consider it as your core practice.

I teach the Art of Being Human Level 1 - Embodiment Edition online several times a year.

If there is sufficient demand (at least 6 people), I will also run a regular practice session for the remainder of FEC/CEC to meet at least the minimum practice hours requirement.

I also provide mentoring in relational facilitation for FEC/CEC graduates. This is a year-long small group programme and will next run in 2025.
